What this website collects, and what it doesn’t.

This page covers two things: this website, and the early-list signup. That is its whole scope.

What this website collects

Nothing, on our end. These are two static files. There is no JavaScript on this site, no cookie banner because there are no cookies to consent to, no analytics, no pixels, no session tracking, no fingerprinting, no advertising tags.

Two things do load from outside, and you should know about both:

• The typeface is Nunito, served by Google Fonts. Loading it means your browser requests files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google sees the IP address that made the request. Google Fonts sets no cookies, but that request does happen.
• The sign-up form is a Google Form, embedded on the front page. Everything inside that box is Google’s, not ours, and it behaves like any other Google page, including cookies inside the frame, and Google’s own privacy policy rather than this one. If you would rather not touch it, don’t: nothing else on the site depends on it.

Whoever hosts these files may also keep ordinary server logs, the same as any website. We don’t use those logs to build a profile of you.

If you join the early list

You give us an email address, plus whatever else you choose to type into the form. That lands in Google Forms, and we see it there.

• We use it to email you about Biscuit: progress, early units, pricing. That is the only reason we asked.
• We don’t sell the list, rent it, or hand it to advertisers.
• Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and asking us to delete you means we delete you.
• To be removed, or to see what we have on you, email chris@biscuittheguardian.com.

About the device

Biscuit isn’t for sale yet, and this page doesn’t cover it. The privacy terms for the device itself will be published before it ships.

Children

The early list isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If a child signed up, tell us at chris@biscuittheguardian.com and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this page

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant, we’ll say so to the early list rather than quietly editing the file.
